Oh No...

I feel really bad about thins now, but I can't write anymore. Bats and Birds is just a fan fic, and I really am trying to become a writer. I have recently come up with a new story, and it's going to take all my time. So, no more. =( Guys, don't be mad or sad, I just love my knew idea and want to ride it out. If you would like, I can keep this site up and running so it can be a place to post your stuff. It doesn't have to do with Twilight or Maximum Ride, but just a place to put your work.

Again, big sorry to anyone who was really into my stuff. But this idea is really cool and I love it!!! Just read it and tell me it doesn't sound awesome!

Long ago, in the hidden land of Octavia, a mighty war broke out. King Aden, beloved by all, fought of the evil vampire Salin. King Aden happened to be a powerful wizard, but Salin was equally as strong. In the end, both warriors died, but their legacy lived on in thier heirs.

Fifteen year old Josie Parker, has been rejected by her parents, or so she thinks. She happens to be King Aden's great-great-great-great grand daughter. Unware of her history, Josie is a trouble maker, irresponsible, and sarcastic beyond belief. Oh, and she is a witch.

Fifteen year old Linkin Rogers, was lying in a fire when a beautiful women save him. The next time he wakes, Likin is in a foreign country. Turns out, he is the heir of Salin. The women saved his life by transforming him into a vampire. But, Linkin never wanted this.

Each are brought to the kingdom of Octavia, which has been without a ruler for many centuries. Linkin is tricked into beliving King Aden was a tyrant and his heir is just as bad. Josie learns that Salin was pure evil, and his heir is even worse!

When the time comes for each teenager to become the leader of thier people, they both run away. Linkin is not evil, and hates the monster he has become. Josie can't handle having people count on her becuase she knows she shall fail. When they meet in the forest, the two think they must hate the other, but surprisingly, they don't. In fact they are drwn to the other.

Through a mix of events, it ends up that both kids aren't as bad as the rumors said. They befriend on another, and face the country of Octavia. That is until things take a turn for the worst...

It is a mix of mythical creature such as cantaurs, fawns, and fairies, with fantasy creatures such as vampires, wizards, and werewolves. This action/fantasy/romance/comedy story is going to be my best work.

So you see, I need to keep all my attention on this. I really did like writing Bats and Birds, but the time has come to stop. Sorry again!!!! Love you all!

MY STORY SO FAR....Updated

Head to the bottom for the most recent stuff!!!

Bats And Birds

"I'm really tired," moaned Nudge. She was almost asleep in the air. I sighed and realized that it had been almost two days since we last fell asleep. See, even though we totally blew up the Itex in Germany, the stupid Flyboys wouldn't give it a rest! It sucked that we were still on the run, but anyways. Oh, I almost forgot. The voice told me to head down south, you know, like Mexico. I, on the other hand disregarded that, and went the opposite direction. What better place than Canada!

The others weren't as thrilled, but I eventually persuaded them. Now, we were in Washington, or was it still Oregon. It didn't matter. I angled my wings downward and the rest of the group followed. Soon, we neared a very tiny town.

"What's the time?" asked Iggy groggily.
Being cranky I spat, "Oh yes, let me check my watch." I didn't have a watch. Iggy frowned and became quite. All I knew was that it was pitch black out, cold, and damp. "Come on, lets find a place to crash."

A relatively small house seemed uninhabited. Iggy picked the lock, and soon we were inside. I checked the fridge for the goods, and found stuff for everyone. After we ate, I was about ready to collapse, but decided to take the first watch anyhow. Unfortunately, I didn't do such a hot job.

"Bella!" Charlie called for me from down stairs.
"Yeah," I said and stretched. The clock ready 7:00am. "What's up?" He was looking through the mail and began handing letter to me.
"It's the Jones's mail again. Do you mind going next door and dropping it off?"
I nodded, but a thought occurred to me. "Aren't they out of town?"
Charlie looked up. "Yes, but I forget when they are coming back. Can you do it anyways." At that, I ran upstairs and threw on some clothes.

Edward had gone back to his house, and I wasn't expecting him until later tonight, seeing as I was still grounded. I hurried next door and saw all the lights were off. Why didn't they have a mail box? I headed toward the front door when I heard a noise from inside the house. But, no one is home, I thought. I went around to the side, and peered into the window.
"Holy!"

Dialing Edward's number, my hands were shaking. Those kids had wings! I had seen them spread out asleep, wing unfurled and relaxed. Edward picked up. "Bella?"
"Edward, can you come by the house. Like, right now."
"Is something wrong?" I heard his concern in his wonderfully angelic voice.
"Just come."

In less than a minute, Edward was in front of my house. Bella waved him over to where she was stationed. He was about to say something, but I pointed inside. I was still having difficulty comprehending the kids with wings, but Edward only seemed curious. Well, he is a vampire, and he is enemy's with Werewolves, so I guess winged kids isn't much of a surprise.

Taking my hand, Edward lead me to the front door. He opened it in that really creepy silent way, and pulled me inside. As I stepped the floor squeaked. One of the kids woke up. A blond haired boy, very tall, and very thin. What was really scary, was that he looked to the spot where I was standing, exactly! Edward watched him like a hawk. The boy was confused, but still rolled over and went back to bed.

What? He was looking right at me! I racked my brain for answers. Well, he either doesn't care, or he's blind. I think it was the second one. As I thought, Edward had moved forward. I stayed put, hoping not to wake anyone else. Edward venture very close to the wings, examining each detail. I bet he stopped breathing again. He went to each child, but stopped at the eldest girl.

Touching her shoulder lightly, Edward whispered, "Hello?"

Yeah, so what. I fell asleep. Big deal. It was a big since there was a person standing over me. I screamed and practically fell out of the chair. The other immediately awoke and looked horrified. Two, unknown people, were right there in front of them. If they worked for the white coats, it was very bad. And even if they didn't, they had seen their wings.

"Hello, my name is Edward, and this is Bella. And you all are?" The guy was really handsome, I'll give him that. But, I weren't all Erasers handsome. All Erasers were eliminated.
Shut up, Jeb!

I looked to the girl to see her surprised and almost afraid. Edward had moved back to her. Leaping up, I was ready to fight. "You can cut the act, buddy. We know who you are!" Actually I didn't, but I was guessing they weren't good.

Edward tilted his head. "Have we met before?"
"No! And I don't plan to! Guys, let's go."
So, I turned and was ready to leave. I was waiting for them to call after me trying to make me stay, but they didn't, which bugged me. I spun around with a scowl on my face. "Your not going ask me to stay?"

The girl seemed bi-polar to me. First she was like, I'm not going to stick around, the next, she was hurt when we didn't ask her to say.

"You clearly expressed no wish to stay. Why should we deny you?" Edward was using his unfailing charm. It seemed to have worked because the girl didn't go.

She eyed us carefully. "What do you want then?"
"Your names will be just fine." So one by on, they said there name. Except the one Max said was Fang. He was glaring at Edward with such intensity. Bella was very excited that they may learn more about these people that she was willing to do anything to keep them here. "Anyone want some breakfast?"

Bella had offered to cook for them. She decided to make omelets and toast. This was definitely a first for them. It didn't make sense. Most people run at the sight of us, not make us breakfast. I do want to believe these are good people, but I've been tricked too many times before. Jeb, than Anne...

While Bella ran into the kitchen, Edward and us sat around the table. We had to pull up many chairs, but we squeezed in. Soon enough, we could smell the omelets. Iggy went off probably worried Bella was going to make them wrong, while Edward looked at each of them.
"So this is awkward." Gazzy always said what everyone was thinking.

I want to know what they're talking about! I am stuck in the kitchen while all off them--

The blind one walked in. He moved forward and began to slice the peppers with unreal precision. I had to stop what I was doing and look. I mean, this kid was blind, and he cut better than me. Iggy must have noticed because he tensed up.
"How can you do that?" I admit I was amazed.
"Practice," he mumbled. After that, there was a long and painfully weird silence between them. Why did the kitchen have to be at the opposite end of the house? How I want to hear what they are talking about.

Iggy had stopped cutting and sighed. Furrowing his eyebrows, he said, "I didn't hear him."
"What?" I was lost.
"Edward, I couldn't even hear him come in." Oh, this is not good.

I tried to come up with something. "You were asleep, and probably didn't
notice anything."

"No, I heard you. But, not Edward. I first thought there was only one person in the room, but when I didn't hear anything else, I went back to sleep." Iggy frowned. "But even as he stood there a couple feet away, I couldn't hear a heartbeat, him breathing, him move."

I was in a corner. I had vowed to protect Edward's secret at all times, and wasn't about to share it with a stranger. Suddenly there was scream from the dining room.

"You're a vampire!" shrieked Nudge. Edward was smirking at all of our expressions.

The very calmly, he said, "Yes, I am."

I was stunned. But strangely the fist questioned that popped into my mind was, "Why the heck did you tell us?"

Edward laughed, but saw I was serious. "Seeing as I stumbled upon your...secret." He looked towards my wings, "I felt obligated to tell you mine. Besides, not that everything is out in the open, I have nothing to hide. Do you?"

I wanted to say, "Heck yeah," but didn't. I didn't say anything actually. That girl Bella spoke first.

"It's alright if you don't want to tell us, we understand. Edward and I are just curious." She gave me a nice smile.

"But before we ask anymore questions, lets get some food in our stomach's."

Iggy and I served them. But, after I put one omelet and one piece of toast on each plate, Iggy came around with two more of everything. He set some stuff down for Edward after I intentionally skipped him. "Oh, no, I don't eat." They all dropped their silverware, or chocked on their food.

I couldn't help but laugh. Max asked, "But then what do you..." she seemed to have thought of something. "Do you, like, suck people's blood?"

"No, me and my family are against harming innocents." He looked to me in that way that made my heart skip. Max was following his gaze.

"Are you a vampire to?" Max asked me.

"Me, no, but I plan to become one." Again everyone stopped what they were doing and Edward sighed.

"Not now Bella." I crossed my arms over my chest. "I bet you have may questions to ask us, and we want to ask you too. But first we must agree that we may never speak of this outside this house to anyone other than the people present." They all nodded and Edward smiled. "Who wants to go first?"

Nudge didn't hesitate to blurt out, "Do you have a girlfriend?" I groaned and resisted the urge to smack her upside the head.

Edward arched an eyebrow, then looked towards Bella. She had rested her small hands on the table. Taking one, he replied, "Yes. Bella is, what you may call, my girlfriend." Bella's smile could have blinded my eyes. I let my eyes drift to Fang, who happened to be looking at me.

Beside me I heard Nudge moan. I didn't like this subject at all so I quickly asked, "How old are you?" Yeah, like that really matters.

Again, Edward had this unique way of making everything interesting. First he said 18. But Bella corrected him.

"See, vampires can't age. So he's stuck at 18." She looked meanly at him, but continued anyways. "Really Edward is almost 100 years old."

"100 YEARS OLD!" Note to self: Teach Nudge how to take a surprise better to save my eardrums. Edward nodded. Nudge went on a talking rampage. "But, how can that be. I mean, if your a--"

My hand covered the girls mouth. "Explain," I commanded.

"Alright, but it may take sometime." I sat patiently, almost eager to hear what he would say next. "Back before I was born, and during the 1600's, a man name Carlisle was attacked by a vampire. He fended him off, but was injected with, lets say, a vampire gene."

I nodded saying I understood.

"Carlisle, is a very good man, and he was the one who saved my life, in a sense. Back when I was truly 18, I had taken ill. Close to death, Carlisle found me, and injected me. That is what saved me. Am I making sense?"

"Yes. Did Carlisle save only you?" I had suddenly became very enticed by Edward. I hung on ever word.

"No, Carlisle, in total, saved six of us. Then, not only did he save us, he trained me and my family to resit temptation the way he did." Edward gave a small laugh. "Actually, Carlisle is a brain surgeon."

This stuff was getting more complex by the second. But, what I did find interesting was that I had a lot in common with Edward. Think about it, aside from the fact we both have really big secrets, we had many more similarities. Edward obviously cared about his new family, even though they weren't related, just like my flock. And, from the way he spoke about becoming a vampire, it was a blessing and a curse. I feel that sometimes too.

Edward hadn't released my hand since he took hold of it. I loved that. Angel, the smallest one, asked happily, "What can you do besides eat people."

Smiling, Edward gave a little wink, then zoomed next to Angel, with lightning speed. Angel squeaked when he appeared. "I can do that."

Angel grinned. She's adorable! "What else, what else?"Edward bent down so he was eye level with the sitting Angel.

"Hmmm...well, since I don't eat, I don't sleep. But do you want to hear something really cool?" Angel leaned in. "I don't have to breathe either." Angel's eyes widened.

"I can breath underwater. And talk with my mind," Angel excitedly said. All of a sudden, Edward was looking straight into Angel's eyes. Maybe...they are communicating.

Edward also could read people's minds. He gave a slight smile, and Angel giggled. Max, who looked dumbfounded asked, "What's going on?"

Angel looked to Max. "Edward just told me something funny, that's all."

Max stood up, her eyes never leaving the two. "Angel, are you saying Edward can talk with his mind too?" Looking over his shoulder, Edward gave Max a nod.

"It's my own personal gift. No one else in my family is able to do it, but we all have our special talents."

Another thing me and this guy have in common. Everyone in the flock, aside from Fang, has another ability. Nudge talked out again, "I can touch technology stuff and it talks to me." She obviously wasn't over Edward yet, despite him being a vampire, despite him being about 100, and despite him having a girlfriend.

Again, I looked to Fang. This time though, he was watching Bella. Good thing Iggy spoke up, because I hated this. "That's why I couldn't hear you." Iggy seemed very pleased that there wasn't anything wrong with his hearing after all.

Gazzy was next to ask, "Do you guys sleep in a coffin. I saw this movie once where a vampire got stabbed in the heart with a stick and--"

"Enough Gaz." I was getting a headache.

Edward didn't mind. "Ummm...no I don't sleep in a coffin, or am afraid of garlic, or can be killed by a wooden stake."

As I looked around the room, I saw everyone looking or admiring Edward. The only two who hadn't entered the conversation, was Fang and Bella.

Why is he staring at me? Do I have something on my face? That Fang kid is getting on my nerves. I lifted my gaze from the floor to him, just wondering if he was done looking. Nope, his eyes stilled pinned. Grrrr... I bet that wierdo bird thing has x-ray vision. I went back to staring at the floor and playing with the hem of my shirt.

Edward, on the other hand, was answering all the kids questions. Some as stupid as "what's your favorite color?" That was usually from Nudge. Iggy liked to talk about the vampire's history, while Gazzy continued to ask about the rumors from the movie. Angel sat looking up at him, no doubt asking her own mental questions. Even Max chimed in wondering about his abilities.

Yeah, I got it, Edwards great. But what about the six of them, when do we learn about that? At that, I stood and went to group, vaguely aware of Fang's eyes following me. "Okay guys, now that you know almost everything about Edward, may we ask some things?"

Sitting back down in their chairs, Max said, "Alright, but I can't say everything." I nodded.

"First off, how'd you get the wings?" Okay, so that was a little blunt.

Max cleared her throat and became very serious. "As babies, we all were either taken or given away to some very crazy and evil scientists. They combined avian DNA into our DNA, causing us to have wings."

Edward wasn't really paying attention to Max, but looking towards Angel again. I leaned back in my chair, hoping he was getting all the details out of the girl.

I continued to ask Max about various sorts of things . How old were they? How did they escape? Why were they in the Jones's house? And more, all the while Edward stayed silent. In truth, I felt sympathy towards them. Max, who had to be a leader at 14, was battling things no one should ver face. And Angel was 6, and had more pain than most people ever endure.

All though Fang was bugging the heck out of me, I wondered why he hadn't spoke. Out of all of them, I wish I could just hear what that boy was thinking.

The discussion went late into the day. All of the flock seemed to really into Edward and all his vampire mysteries. That was excluding Fang. He sat in that stupid chair, sometimes looking at Edward, but mostly at Bella. I had answered all Bella's questions. I thought it would be hard to answer, but it wasn't.

I had explained that they were getting chased all across the world by the guys, dying to get their hands on us. Edward understood, and wanted to help. but before he could speak, Bella stood and cried, "Oh no! Charlie!" Edward had risen also, and ran to the phone.

Handing it to Bella, he instructed, "Call Charlie and say you decided to take a walk after dropping off the mail. Tell him your calling from your cell phone." I watched as Bella calmed and talked to this Charlie guy. Once it was over Bella sighed.

"I'm really glad Charlie doesn't have caller ID at home." Edward took the phone from her.

"Max," I couldn't help but get chills as he said my name. "Do you mind if we continue this conversation somewhere else?"

"Like where?" I asked afraid he'd say like a bat cave or something.

"Preferably, my house. It's not to far from here, and maybe Carlisle can help us solve your problem." But I do know how to solve it. Save the world, right? Anyways, I still accepted. "You may fly there if you like."

"Okay, but I'll need directions." After I learned the way, we all headed outside.

"Bella," Edward called to her. She came to him and smiled. Then, Bella climbed atop his back. Whoa, I want a free piggy back ride. But before I could think again, Edward took off. I stood there amazed at his speed.

After I shook my head, I called to the flock. "Okay guys, follow me."

While I was in the air, I slowly began to realize. We are about to go into a house full of probably hungry vampires. Is this a trap?

Edward and I of course beat the others over here. But, I was sure they wouldn't be long so I had to act fast.

He set me down, and I had to hold my for a few seconds to stop the spinning. I had gotten better. "Alright Edward, what do you have to say about the 6?"

Edward put an arm around me. "We'll speak later. Right now, let's concentrate on helping them."

"Are they really that bad off?" Edward nodded, and looked to the blue sky. Way, I mean waaaaaaaay. above us, some nice birds flew. But, those birds were coming ever closer, and growing larger. Before I knew it, Max and her crew were before us, taking in the house.

"So this is where you live?" Max asked.

"I hope it is too your liking." Edward was always so polite.

I heard Gazzy whisper to Iggy, "It doesn't look like the movie. But I bet it's really dark and filled with spiders and stuff." Were they in for a surprise. See, Edward's house is bright and smells delicious. They have beautiful paintings, and a piano, and nothing like a vampire's lare should look like.

As they entered, Edward spoke, "Carlisle you have guests." He didn't yell, or even raise the volume at all. But still, Carlisle came. I wonder what the world sounds like with super sensative ears?

Just as handsome and charming as Edward, Carlisle greeted me warmly. Then, he turned to look at the others. "Edward, you didn't tell me we had guests. You know that the others are out." That meant they were hunting.

"That's alright father. We are actually hoping to speak with you, is that all right?"

"Of course, come in, all of you." I saw Carlisle look each kid over, head to toe. Each kid had dirty clothing, minor scratches and scraps, and were extremely tall for there age. This must have been very interesting to him.

As they entered the dining hall, I looked back to see all of them a bit hesitant. Carlisle noticed and motioned them in. "Please, sit, sit. Any guest of Edward and Bella, are welcome in my home."

After they all sat, Edward turned to his father. "I should first tell you that these kids know that we are vampires." Carlisle turned, blank faced, to the rest of the table. "Second of all, they too have a secret. Max, could you show him?"

So, Max stood up and released her huge wings. I had never really taken in how magnifecent they were. Turning back to Carlisle, I was amazed to see him smiling. "Well, that certainly is a secret. And all of your are the same I suppose?" They nodded. "I see. And what can I do for you?"

"They are in trouble." Edward said very serious, causing Carlisle to loose his grin. "Max and the others are being followed, and are in great danger." Almost stunned, Carlisle stood.

"Dear children, I am happy to help you to the best of my ability. But, I don't even know your names."

So we're in a dining room (which seems kinda pointless if they dont eat food in there) listing our names once again. If you think about it, I've met, maybe, three new people in my like that I actually liked. So, to meet three new people, who I maybe like, and are vampires, is very very very strange to us.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy they are interested in helping us and all, and it is totally cool we would have some kick ass vampires on our side. But, I'm a little skeptical.

Oh, I forgot to tell you, I spoke with Fang, in the air. It was maybe a two second conversation, but here's how it went.

Me: Fang, you haven't spoken all this time. What's up?
Him: Nothing, I just don't like them.
Me: How come?
Him: (shrugs) Don't trust them
Me: Why?
Him: Will you quit asking me questions. (And he flys in front of me signalling the disscussion was over)

I turned to look at him, and once again, he was watching Bella. I sighed. What is going on in that boys head?

Edward had told what they had found out about the six kids to Carlisle. Nudge added a few things here and there, but mainly he got the jist. I watched as sometimes Carlisle nodded, or sighed. Once Edward finished, Carlisle looked down the table. "You have been through quite a bit and I wish to be of service. Max, I understand you are meant to save the world, but you have not clearified what you are saving us from?"

I was thinking the same thing. Max grew uncomfortable and shifted in her seat. "I...I can't tell you." What, why not?

"I see," said Carlisle. "In that case, I do not know how much I can do to assist you, but don't hesitate to ask."

Max didn't. "We need a place to crash for a little bit. And somewhere to get food. We'll be out of your hair in no time, promise." At that, Carlisle smiled and bowed his head.

"I'll show you to your rooms."

Wow! I love this family. I mean, free rooms, no questions, nice people, and better than a hotel! Note to self: Stay at Carlisle's more often.

After they all washed up, Max headed in to tuck the kids in. Nudge and Angel were in the same room together, but I forgot which room that is. So, I wandered back and forth down the long hallway, deciding which room it was. I mean, they all look the same, and it was an easy mistake.

I chose the third door on the left. Edward! "Hello Max, are you alright?" He was reading a book.

"I...was looking for Nudge and Angel." Edward put his book down and stood. He was taller than me, which is a nice change.

Edward walked closer and I noticed that his eyes were golden. Wow... Ah! Get a hold of yourself. Edward guided me to a door and knocked.

"Come in," called to high pitched voices in unison. I thanked Edward, and headed into the girls room.

Gazzy was next, and bunking with Iggy. Again, same problem, but I had less chance of screwing up seeing as I now knew which two weren't the one I was looking for. But, I guessed wrong, again!

Fang spun around. "Oh, hey," he said. I should have just turned around and gone one room over, but was actually pulled in my an unidentify force. Well, it could have been just me, but still.

"Fang, what's going on?" I took a seat on the bed. Nice!
He looked at me. He had nice dark eyes. Why the heck am I noticing guys eyes! What's wrong with you Max? "What do you mean?"

"I mean, the way you watched Bella today. It was kinda creepy."

A shrug. That was his answer; a shrug. Yes, very descriptive, I know eactly what you mean. "Fang," I groaned.

"Jeez Max! Why do you care so much. Maybe I think she's cute." At first I was shocked, but something in his voice told a different story.

"Your lying."

"Forget you." Fang turned his back to me. I went up to him and flipped him around.

"Okay, here's your little pep talk. Listen carefully. We don't keep secrets, we can't keep secrets. Our lives, and not to mention the rest of the flock's lives are at stake. Don't you dare tell me to 'Forget you' becuase one, I don't know what that means, and two, I don't care what that means. Either tell me the truth or...No, you don't even have a choice. I demand you tell me the truth."

Fang put his hands up and said, "Alright, alright. Don't give yourself a heart attack. Max, I'm not trying to keep secrets, it's just that I don't really want to tell you."

"That's a secret Fang. When you keep something from someone else. Do I need to get you a handbook?"

"Ugh, no! I'm embarressed, okay?"

"Embarrassed of what?"

"I was looking at Bella becuase I knew it was bugging you! I knew you hated it, that's why I did it! There, now you know. Happy?" No, not really. Why was he intentionally trying to piss me off. Before I could ask anything, his voice soften. "Max, I kissed you, and you just left. Yet, I wanted to belive that, I some way or form, you...just cared."

"I...I..." Can't...form...complete...thought.

"Aaagh! Max, you make everything so hard. I can't think around you!" Again, I couldn't even respond, so he asked. "Do you mind leaving now? I need to get to bed." So, I did, afraid what I just heard was fake.

He wants me to care...but I do care. I don't understand why he would want to annoy me. Do I really make life harder for him? Fang, fang, fang! Boys are stupid...or is it just me?

With my head on Edward's chest and his hand laced between my own, you would think I'd be in heavan. Well, today's events were to fresh in my mind.

"Edward?" He looked down to me. "What are we up against? Why are these kids running away?" I heard him sigh, I knew this wasn't going to be good.

"Bella," I never tired of him saying my name. "I really like them. They have been through such hardships, I admire them in a way."

"You know, we've hadn't been walking through a field of dasies either."

"All the more reason we should help. We know what it is like to suffer." His eyes met mine, and I was instantly reminded of our time apart.

"I'm not saying we shouldn't help but," I was very aware of Edward's frown, "they're keeping things from us."

"We have not been entirly truthful with them. Did you disscuss the werewolves, or Victoria, or the countless of other things that have hunted us." I grimaced, he was right. "They will come to us in time. Come on now, your tired and we;ve already wasted enough time on this subject."

I didn't get up instantly. The conversation with Fang kept me up almost all the night. Why does everything have to be so complicated? I remained in my cozy bed, with the covers over my head. Okay, if vampire's don't sleep, why would they have beds?

A knock came on the door. "Yeah," I called. Carlisle's voice came through the door.

"Forgive me, I do not keep food in my home. But if you like, we can go into town to get you some breakfast."

"Sure, I'll get the others. Give me a sec." So, I slumped out of bed. They have a dining room, beds, I wouldn't have been surpirsed if they had food too.

The field was big, and his eyes scanned for movement. Jacob had been reduced to look out for his pack. It was awful, constantly thinking, never being able to talk to Bella. She haunted him, and was a constant reminder that he was supposed to be an outcast all his life.

Something moved across the way. Suddenly, a great big van drove through the trees and out into the open. What they heck? Jacob didn't morph right away, he waited to see who or what was in the van.

First some guys in white coats popped out, followed by what looked like miny werewolves. Jacob decided to investigate, so he transformed. Charging to the fields, Jacob growled, "Who's there?"

The miny wolves didn't move. Robots? Instead, what appeared to be a scientist, stepped foward. "Ve vish you no harm, please." Okay, so what did they want. "My associates and I, have been searching for some escaped convicts. Have you seen anything unusual?" No he hadn't. "Very vell, ve shal be on our vay."

"What did these convicts look like?" Jacob didn't like the idea of convicts roaming around his territory.

"Vell, they are very tall, and lean. Children actually. I belive they went vith a couple. Ve think their names are Bella and Edward."

Jacob let out a low growl. He hated the Cullens and what they took from him. "Edward you say, I do know where they live."

Breakfast was definetly weird. The people around here stare like crazy! Well, we did order an unruly amount of food, and we were kinda new but still.

After the sixth waitress asked Carlisle if her wanted anything, I was sure he had a spell to attract women. Edward takes after him. WHAT, did I just think that.

Fang was the farthest away from me, purposefully. It's his stupid falt that he told me. Maybe he could kepp his mouth shut! Carlisle was asking about the scinetists, and the School, like it was an everyday topic. "Ah, and why did they want you for weapons?"

"They said they wanted us to asassins, or something," piped Nudge, forking down her seventh pancake.

"Your life is facinating." Carlisle's phone rang. "Hello?" You could just see his expression change from polite, happy Carlisle, to bad ass vampire, in seconds. "Don't move, I'm on the way."

(Before the phone call) Edward wanted to head back to his house, to pick up his car. As we got there, Edward walked inside, while I waited. Two, large hand grabbed me from behind, and pulled me out of the way. BOOM! The house, and all inside were burned and destroyed. My eyes widened, as I saw the flames. "Edward!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.

Jacob held Bella as she stuggled. Edward wasn't dead, she should know that. The scientists had described it all to Jacob. The winged mutant freaks, and why they needed them dead. He understood and decided to make a deal.

Leading them, and all their robot friends, Jacob placed the bombs inside. The trap was meant for the mutants, returning from breakfast. But Edward screwed it up. Now, they deal was off! Bella would hate him even more for what he had done, but it was the only way. See, if the mutants were killed, they would help kill Edward.

"Let go of me," Bella snapped venemously. She had never bothered to look at her kidnapper. The fire had died down, and Bella seemed unharm so he did as she asked.

She ran to the flames screaming his name. Jacob only hid in the shadows watching her. Edward...damn him! He took Bella, and I'm going to take her back! Your death will only be a bonus!

I couldn't understand what happened. Whipping out my cellphone, I called Carlisle. Edward was still inside, and I didn't know how to get to him.

"Hello?" Carlisle sounded calm and collective.

"Carlisle, something terrible happened. I...can't belive...the house is on fire! Edward is inside! Please, you have to help." I was on the verge of tears.

"Don't move, I'm on the way." His voice had become cold. I stared into the flames, helpless to do anything. Suddenly, I saw a shadow.

"EDWARD!" I yeleld as loud as I could. Out of the flames, a tall man walked. Once he was a few feet away, I ran towards him. Edward was covered in soot, and looked stunned. He was unharmed. "Your alright! I was so worried, but your okay!" I wrapped myself around him so tightly that if he needed to breath, he wouldn't have been able to.

Edward smiled down at me and said, "That was interesting." He looked up and towards his left. "Dad's here." He was right, of course. Carlisle stopped next to him, a grimace on his face.

"Are you two alright?" We nodded. He looked to his home, and with a pained expression called the fire deparment. Not before going in, and retrieving a few valuable objects. That's vampires for you. Before the fire trucks arrived, Carlisle turned to Edward and me. "I wonder what I'll tell Esme."

So, we were stuck in the stupid booth, in Denny's resturant, waiting for Carlisle to return. The kids didn't mind, but Fang and I hardly spoke. Yes, I know, this is a first for me, but whatever. I wanted to get out of there and once everyone had eaten thier fill, I asked, "Do you guys wanna check out the town?"

Iggy groaned, "Yes, the stamp musuem is the highlight of the town." He had a point. This town wasn't a big tourist attraction, and probably didn't have anything that interesting, but it beat staying here.

"Let's just walk around, see what there is." I got up, and lead the flock out of the resturant. It was a nice little town full of quaint shops. Nudge wanted to stop in every antique store, but I didn't think the boys would enjoy that. We decided just to head to a park, and ahng out there. Discuss where we were heading next.

As the others laid in the grass, and watched the clouds go by, I was concerned that the Flyboys were only days away. "I think it's time to get moving again, you know, seeing as were on the run." This was met with sighs, or moans.

"But, Carlisle said he could help us," cooed Angel. "If we just told him what was going on, maybe..."

"No, I'm not involving anymore people." I wasn't even considering it.

Nudge rooled over to look at me. "Let's stay just one more night. We might not be able to slepp in a real bed for a long time. And shower!" I was trapped by her big brown eyes, and Gazzy adorable face, and Angel, in my mind.

"Your lucky your so cute."

Carlisle was stunned to see them gone. He had told them to wait for his return, but they disobeyed him. Then, a thought struck him. Whoever had destoyed his hime, could have the others. He called Edward, "They're missing."

"What?"

"The kids are gone, I fear something had happened to them."

"Okay let's split up. They couldn't have gone far."

We flew back to Carlisle's house. I was worried we would get lost, but once I saw the smoke pouring out through the trees, it was easy. Bella was speaking with the police, so we landed quite a ways away. "Oh, no," I heard Angel say.

"What?" I was afriad what she might say.

"It was them, the white coats, there here." Thats all I needed to know. I was in the air before the count of three. Everyone followed without hesitation, except Angel. "Come on, we have to leave now!"

She shook her tiny head and said softly, "They're gonna hurt Edward and his family. We have to protect them." Was this child seriously going to risk herself for some vampires? They probably could take out all the Flyboys with no effort at all.

We landed again, and I glared at Angel. "Sweetie, I know you like Edward a lot, but the sooner we leave, the sooner the white coats leave him alone. Understand?" She frowned and pointed to the trees behind me. I turned to see a very large guys behind me. I became defensive, "Who are you?"

The guys voice was low, and gruff. "Max, I'm a friend of Edward's. He called me and asked me to find a safe place for you to stay. They are going to be tied up with the fire department and the police. If you will come with me, I can take you to my home." The guy gave a small smile.

"You still haven't told us who you are," I snarled. For some reason this guy gave me the shivers.

"I'm Jacob."

Jacob looked at the six freaks. He sighed, knowing there fate. That Max girl was staring at him with such intensity, he was sure she might know what he was up to. "So, you guys coming?"

"Why can't Edward come?" The dark skinned one asked. That was Nudge, right. The scinetist he was now working for, gave him a crash course on the flock. Jacob tried to remeber what they had said.

"See, the police have to have a big investigation, and they took him and his dad down to the station." He tried to look like he was really concerned. "Beofe they did, Edward asked me to keep you guys safe."

"They don't think it was edward that put the bomb in the house, do they?" Angel looked up at Jacob with big round eyes. "Becuase it wasn't. It was the white coats, not Edward. He didn't put the bomb inside."

How they heck did she know it was a bomb? Jacob remebered that Ter Borcht warned him about Angel. He forgot why. "No, they just need to ask him a few questions. Why don't we get going?"

Nobody moved, and Jacob was growing aggrivated. "Please guys, the police will be searching the area any minute, do you want to be caught?"

Max turned around and watched as some cops searched around the home. "Let's go," she mumbled. Excellent. Jacob began to head through the woods.

All he had to do was get them to the field. The fake wolves, or Flyboys, would take it from there. Soon, they could move onto faze two. As they walked Jacob could feel Max's cold stare. "Where are we going?" he heard behind him. It sounded like a high pitched male voice.

"To my house. It's really nice, you'll like it there. And it's safe. We'll be there shortly." Jacob couldn't belive how easy it was to minipulate these flying freaks.

The clearing was just up ahead, and Jacob was getting excited. He wasn't happy about seeing these kids die or anything, but the thought of Bella was making him anxious. "Okay guys, just through these trees."

He walked on, but was suddenly aware it was only him walking. The others had stopped. "What is it now?" Jacob said a little too meanly.

"We changed our minds," Max said with a steel tone. "We'll just head back now, we can take care of ourselves. Thanks Jake!" Max gave him a wicked grin, and Jacob began to get angry. No! Bella is almost mine!

It was too much. The next thing he knew he was a large wolf, leaping in front of his prey. Each child look shocked, but unfurled there wings none the less. A loud buzzing filled his ears. Looking towards the sky, the army of Flyboys surround them. It was over for the flock. And just the beginning for Jacob.

You know, you would think that I have seen everything, but I haven't. Seeing that guys, Jacob, turning into a freaking werewolf, was certainly new. Just when we were gonna crack open some butt kicking, the Flyboys rained on our parade.

The flock was already to put down a fight, but I held off. I mean, there were just sooo many, and with the new and improve Eraser (at least thats what I think Jacob was) we could only get hurt, or worse.

"Vell, ve meet again." I can't get over that stupid accent. "You seem..." Ter Borcht laughed, "good, no?" I growled feircly at him, but he didn't flinch. "Thank you Jacob, you've done vell." Jacob returned to human form, and stood arms crossed.

Angel sent me as message. Didn't he say he was Edward's friend?

I looked to her shocked, and nodded. What did you pick up?

Nothing, I couldn't. Edward wouldn't be friends with him would he? He said he wasn't workign with the whitecoats.

Even though she was saying this through her mind, Angel's hurt and nervousness was clearly heard. God, Edward! Could he really have done this to my flock?

Ter Borcht came foward a bit, and eyed us with disgust. "Vhat shall ve do vith you now...vell, I'm certain ve can think of something." He snapped and many Flyboys closed in, grabbing each of us. In my mind, I had so many snide comments just waiting to be spat at that pathetic man, but I couldn't say them.

Edward, he didn't do this! And Bella...Jacob lied, he was lying. I said this over and over to myslef, but I never really belived it. Fang was right. He never trusted them. What are we going to do now!

We must have searched for hours. The kids weren't anywhere. Carlisle was the most upset, blaming himself for not coming back fast enough. That's vampires for you. He called Esme and explained our position. They were all searching now as well. I trecked through the grassy plains around the house.

I began to hum for some reason. Even though I was nervous, and still in awe about the house, I was humming. Coming through the trees, I peered around the field. Nothing. I groaned, and began to head further out into the plains. Humming all the way. I'm so wierd.

Jacob heard Bella humming. She was crossing the grasses and humming. That's what alerted him. He probably wouldn't have seen her becuase he was too engrossed in his job. The scientists had ordered him to surround the valley with some scientific things. Jacob didn't really understand, but as long as it ensnared the Cullens, that's what mattered. Then, he would... Well, it would be messy for sure!

Bella's sweet voice flowed in his ears. He turned to see her. She was beautiful. Straying from his job, Jacob ran to her. "Bella!" he cried.

"Jacob...what?" She seemed happy and afraid at the same time. "What are you doing?"

He thought quickly. "I'm on watch for Victoria."

Bella gave him a puzzled look. "Isn't this still on the Cullens property?" She remebered the treaty, great!

"Yeah, but we think she's close by." Bella's face softened, and she almost smiled.

"How are you?" she asked quietly. Jacob shrugged. "Oh, have you, by the way seen six kids wandering around here?" Jacob lost his focus staring into her eyes.

"Ummm....yeah," he said without meaning too. Bella just did that to him. "I mean, no, no I haven't. No kids. Not one." Shut up you idiot! "Where's Edward?" Jacob growled.

"Like I said, were looking for these kids. Maybe you can keep an eye out for them?" Jacob rolled his eyes.

"Sure, whatever." Unfortunately, he heard that awful buzzing noise. Crap! "Bella, you better get out of here!" But, before she could turn around, the Flyboys had landed.

"Is everything in place?" they said robotically. Jacob straightened and grabebd Bella's arm.

"Yes, now, I must take Bella back home, excuse me." But they had to continue talking.

"Good, we shall lower the bait." Oh no...

And there, above came a helicopter. Holding a cage. Full of mutant bird kids.

I hated being in that cage. It reminded me of all those years I had lived in one. Another thing I hated, was that I was hanging from a helicopter like a freaken pinata. Why I was being placed in a middle of a field, I have no idea! Fang was next to me, and for that moment, I wished I had talked to him. Just sat down and talked to him. But, now it was a little late.

"Look, it's Bella," I heard Angel whisper to me. Looking out through the bars, I saw her. She was talking to that loser Jacob, and was hanging out with our buddies, the Flyboys. That just proved the theory right there. Bella and Edward were working with the whitecoats.

I hit myself mentally for thinking they could be trusted. I should have known, I should have listened to Fang. But, I didn't. Now, I had no idea what was going on, or if they were going to kill us. Swallowing hard, I took many deep breaths.

"It'll be alright, it always is." Fang gave me a sweet smile and took my sweaty hand. I instantly became fine. If I was going to die, this is where I wanted to be. With my flock, with Fang, happy...

The kids! In a cage! I ripped away from Jacob, only to bump into what I guessed were Flymen (something like that). They didn't even look at me with their robotic eyes, so I tried to push past. No luck. "Let me through, " I demanded.

Jacob came behind and took my hand. "Bella please," I released it immediatly only concerned on getting to Max and the others. Jacob continued, "They won't move. The plan is already set, Edward and his family are on there way." There was a tone of pleasure in his voice. What was he talking about?

"What plan?" I finally asked whipping around, scowling. How could he do this...he hated Edward not...OH GOD!!! NO! PLEASE! NO! NO! NO!

The kids were the bait...they knew he Cullens would look for them...and now, they were coming here! Jacob was going to rip them apart!

Jacob sighed, "I caught those winged monkeys, now the scientists are helping me." He grinned, and all I could think was EDWARD! "It can just be me and you again." Jacob extended a large hand and brushed my cheek.

"Don't touch me!" I snarled. The tears pressed on my eyelids. "You can't take on all of the Cullens, they're stonger than you. They're going to kill you!"

Jacob laughed, in cruel and heartless way. "The scientists have tipped the scale to my favor. You'll see." Jacob lifted his head. "Oh, they here. Time for the show!"

Edward hadn't gotten a phone call. "Yes?" he said an a steeled tone. He was upset that that Max and her friends had gone missing. Certainly they didn't leave. Then again, they had all their items with them in their packs, and maybe something came up.

Wither way, Edward was angered. The voice on the phone wasn't one he was familiar with. "Edward is it?"

"Yes, and who is this?"

"Ve have aquired six very valuable objects, you may vant."

"The kids," he siad under his breath, enraged.

"Yes, and they are vaiting for you and your family in the fields. Oh, looks like you little vomen is here as vell. Ve shall see you shortly." They hung up. It took all of Edward not to rush off. Thinking sensibly, Edward alerted his family.

"This might be a trap," Carlisle said plainly. "Do you see anything Alice?" she shook her head.

"It doesn't matter, they have Bella!" Edward exclaimed. "And the flock!"

"We must be prepaered none the less," his father said forcefully. "Stay on your toes, and get them out as fast as you can. Once everyone is safe, Edward, you can release your rage. Understand?"

Edward clenched and unclenched his hands before nodding. It was one thing to attack him personally, but to come after Bella, whoever did this was going to die. He was sure.

Jacob watched the field, awaiting his vampire friends. Bella was off in a corner, protected by the robots, while the flock was in the cage. Once the flock neared the cage, the sensors would go off. Ter Borcht explained that it would stun them momentarily, and they would be unable to run. How they made this device so quickly? Jacob didn't care. It only had to work.

"Where are you?" Jacob said to himself. He could smell all of them, and they probably smelled him. Still, the bait was set, and everything was in place. All they had to do was come too---!

Edward raced across the field to the cage. Why wasn't the device working? Jacob was furious and morphed unintentionally. Edward's eyes fleeted to him, and he took his fighting stance. Jacob leapt into the field.

Why didn't the scientist shock him? He glared at the scientist, who was pressing the button fiercly. Jacob thought and realized he had never finished placing the devices fully around the meadow. Damn it!

The others had come onto the field encircling him. "Release them immediatly!" Edward cried, shaking from pure anger. "Where's Bella?" Jacob was bewildered. Surely, he smells her. His sent must be overpower Bella's. Wonderful.

"Bella has chosen me. She does not wish to be with your inferior kind any longer." Edward wasn't fazed. Hopefully, the Flyboys were keeping her quite.

"Liar! Let Bella tell me for herself." Jacob watched as Carlisle moved towards the cage. No! This can't be happening! Suddenly the cage broke. Jacob pounced, pinning a bird kid to the ground.

Carlisle bared his fangs, and hit Jacob hard. It sent him flying backwards, not before Jacob had done his damage. The kid laid on the ground unmoving. Jacob laughed, and stood. The scientist had gotten out of there immediatly. Bella had gone with them. This wasn't over, Jacob would be back. Fleeing, Jcob ran into the dense forest.

My view of the whole fight. Here goes...

I watch Jacob hide in the shadows with disgust, while we wait for something. Fang still held my hand, but his effect was wearing off. I saw Bella a ways away, probably enjoying the seen. Suddenly, Edward came up to the cage, in a blink of an eye!

"Are you alright?" He was still pulling on that role. Give it a rest!

"Oh, and why would you care, you no good liar!" I spat. He gave me a confused look, but turned to where Jacob was. Edward looked so scary for that moment, I was happy to have steel bars separating us.

Then, big bad wolf, Jake, came bounding out into the field. Oh, and Edward's family joined them. Wow! That's a lot of mean looking vampires.

"Release them immediatly!" said Edward. Huh? Now I was confused. He was supposed to be working for the whitecoats...right? So shouldn't he be like, hi-fiving Jacob?

"Where's Bella?" again, Edward didn't make any sense. She was right over there. I turned to look where Bella should have been, but she wasn't. I also noticed that the van had started their engine.

"Bella has chosen me. She does not wish to be with your inferior kind any longer." I was getting the impression that Edward and Jacob didn't like one another. Maybe...maybe Edward was not working for the bad guys...and Jacob was lying!

This was a very good thought, and it would make sense for some stuff. Edward said something else, but all I saw was Carlisle moving towards us. "Move back," he command softly. He gripped the bars, and ripped them free.

Yes! Freedom! We're free--

Jacob leapt! Oh God! The giant wolf was crushing Gazzy under his massive body. His entire wait on top of the boy! Carlisle charged, hitting him hard enough to send Jacob flying back.

All I could think about was Gazzy. I flew down to him. Jacob must have fled becuase I didn't hear any more fighting. I took the Gasman's head in my hand, "Gaz, Gaz, wake up...come on...wake up!"

He opened his blue eyes. They were fille with tears. "Max, it hurts!" he gasped. I nearly broke down right there. Tears and everything, but I tried to stay strong.

"What hurts?" Gazzy didn't say anything, just let out a sob.

"Max," Carlisle bent down to her. "He is in bad condition. there could be internal bleeding, and we have to get him to a hospital immediatly." I looked into his dark brown eyes, and knew he was right. I nodded slightly, and stood.

Carlisle picked the Gasman up, who cried out at any type of movement. Then, before I knew it, they were gone. I looked around the rest of them, and realized Edward wasn't anywhere. I was stuck with all new and equally as terrifying vampires.

I took a deep breath and said, "Are you the rest of Edward's family?"

A beautiful women stepped foward. "Yes, I am Carlisle's wife, Esme. Please let us go to the hospital. Surely you wish to stay by your brother."

I didn't bother to correct her. My heart had been broken at the sight of the poor boy, hurt so badly. I mere took to the air and began to fly. The others followed.

"He'll be okay, right Max?" asked Angel.

"Of course sweetie," but my voice broke in the middle, and I was tearing up. We soon got to the local hospital. God how I hated it there, but Gazzy needed us.

"Can you tell me where Carlilse is?" I asked the nurse, trying to regain control of my shaken voice.

"Oh, you mean Dr. Cullen," the women said with a smile. "He is with a patient right now, you can come---"

"I know he's with a patient right now! My brother! And I'm not coming back for visiting hours, okay! I need to see him right now!"

The nurse was shocked, and then looked apollogetic. "You cannot interrupt Dr. Cullens, he is in surgery."

NO! Gazzy needed surgery! But what type of surgery...wasn't Carlisle a brain surgeon. Was Gazzy that injured. My head became heavy, and I was about to crack.

"We will wait here, until he is finished," Fang declered without waiting for the nurse to agree. We all sat down, and tried to forget we were in a hospital.

I put my head in my hands, and prayed for Gazzy. That little boy who I had grown up with, seen him first fly, watched him make bombs. I finally let my tears leak into my hangs. Fang put a hand on my back, trying to comfort me, but it was no use.

The Gasman could die...thats all I thought of.

When the fight headed south for Jacob, I was thrown into the back of the van. It was awful. All the freaky robot things were around me, and I was duct taped. Why? It's not like I pose any type of threat. Anyways... I began to think about what I had just seen.

I had no idea how everything turned out. I really hoped no one was hurt, except maybe Jacob. Edward was sure to come after me, right? Something hit the van hard. Maybe my knight in shining white armor is here!

Again, something crashed into the car. This time, the van began to tip on it's side as we raced on at 80 miled per hour. I tried to loosen the tape around my wrists but it was no use. Thump! Next thing I knew, the van was skidding on it's side off the road.

A Flyboy grabbed me, and kicked open the door. It wasn't Edward, it was Jacob. Just as the doors opened wide enough, Jacob lunged at the flyboy ripping his torso off. GROSS! Then, he turned to me.

He actually grabbed my shirt by his wolf teeth and ran. I was still duct tapped, and now being carried off by a large wolf like a pup! He ran fo so long, and so fast, that by the time we stopped, I had absolutely no idea where I was.

Jacob dropped me, which hurt, and went back to human form. He was panting, and looked furious. Practically ripping my arm off in the process, Jacob took off my tape. Then he command, "Give me your phone!"

I reached into my pocket and took out my phone. Then, he pressed a few buttons and put it to his ear. Who the heck would he be calling? "Yes, I have her." He paused to listen. "No, I did't get chance. The stupid trap didn't work." Another long pause. "Alright, just come quick!" He hung up.

"Who was that?" I asked quietly.

"My pack... there coming here. It's time to end this fued." What did he mean by that? The Cullens and Werewolves have been enemies for so long. How are they going to end it?

I sat down, wrapping my arms around my knees. Jacob terrified me. "Are you going to kill them?" I asked without meaning to.

"Yes, that's the only way." Jacob's voice was cold. He wasn't himself anymore. He was consumed by hatrid.

"Then, your going to have to kill me too." I looked at him and tried to seem strong, even though my heart was coming up my throat. "If Edward dies, I die with him."

"BELLA!" Jacob cried. "YOU DON'T BELONG WITH HIM! I LOVE YOU JUST AS MUCH AS HE DOES! MORE! I'D NEVER LET ANYTHING HURT YOU! AND STILL YOU PICK EDWARD OVER ME!"

"Yes." I always would. I would pick Edward over myself.

"FINE, IF I CAN'T HAVE YOU, NIETHER CAN HE!" What was he doing? Jacob transformed and grabbe me again. Where was he taking me?

We traveled far far away. I saw nothing but blurs and was afraid Jacob was taking me somewhere Edward couldn't find. Then, we stopped.

It was a desert, or plain, but definetly not in Washington! Oh my God... he is going to drop me in a hole in the middle of no where. And that's what he did. Jacob placed me in a canyon, hidden by dying bushes, and many rocks.

"Edward won't find you. My scent is overpowering yours. You shall be my hidden secret." Jacob left me and I was alone, in a dark, awful, canyon. Oh, and I had no water, food, or supplies. This sooooo sucked.

-------------------------------

I waited and waited in that stupid hospital for what seemed like days. Finally, Carlisle came out. Smiling. Thank God!

"The Gasman's surgery was successful. We his lung was punctured along with what you say is an air sack, and a minor cuncussion." Carlisle's eyes fleeted back and forth from our faces. "Along with a broken arm, and factured thigh bone, Gazzy will recover. Not without many months of physical therapy, and bed rest."

Yeah, that wasn't going to happen. Even though he had said all that, all I head was Gazzy will recover. "When can we see him?" That was my first concern.

Carlisle sighed. "I fear not for another day. He is sleeping now, and has had a very rough time. But, if you promise to keep quiet and not wake him, I will allow a short visit."

I didin't wait for him to tell me what room he was in. I almost felt Gazzy pulling me. Room 176.

A small boy with many bandages, and bed head hair, slept soundly. I entered the room quietly, and wished I could just hold him. We all crowded round.

"Does he look okay?" I heard Iggy ask Fang. He was close to tears. Gazzy was his partner in crime, and this was hitting him hard.

"Yeah, he looks tough." Fang looked up at me, and I smiled. But what now? Surely all the surgeons saw the wings on his back, and Gazzy wouldn't be able to fly for quite some time. Then there was Jacob, the scientist, and all the vampires to worry about.

Even though my head was spinning with thoughts and stress, I just looked at Gazzy and smiled. It could have been worse.

Edward traced the van to the spot where it fell over. There were still some robots wandering about, and though Edward tried to reason with them, it just ended with him angery, and a bunch of destroyed robots.

He picked up Jacobs trail. There was such a hatrid for him, that Edward was losing himself. No longer was Bella the only concern, but killing that beast. As he neared the camp site, the scent became stronger. But, unfortuantely, Jacob was not the only werewolf.

His whole pack was there, not transformed. The Alpha one, looked to the sky. "We have company," he snarled. Damn it! They smelled him. Turning around Edward out ran them. But he was no closer to Bella than before, and Jacob was protected.

Enraged, Edward punched a tree. It collopased, but did not subside his anger. The thought of Jacob having Bella was consuming the sane part he had. What was worse, he had no way to getting to her. If he tried to fight the whole lot of wolves, he would surely be killed.

Eventually, Edward headed back to Forks. He would have to ask his family for help. His heart ached and he felt as though something inside of him was missing. Bella was gone.

-----------------------------------------
I convinced Carlisle to take the rest of the flock to the hotel where they were staying. They didn't need to stay in this hell hole called a hospital. Only Fang and I stayed, even though I told him he could go. Gazzy was still asleep, and I was still sitting next to him, listening to him breathe.

Fang came and pulled a chair up beside me. Not saying anything, we both stared at our Gasman. I began to remember what happened yesterday. "I do care Fang." I said forgetting he probably had no idea what I was talking about.

"You care about what?" he asked arching an eyebrow.

"You said you wanted me to care...but I do care. The flock is my life." I wasn't looking at him anymore. I stared at my hands trying to calm my nerves. They weren't calming.

Fang sighed. "I know you care about the flock, Max. But what I don't know is if you care about me." Before I could say anything Fang spoke again. "You don't care about me the way I care about you."

Whoa...wait a second. What was Fang saying here. My heart was beating so fast and so hard, I was sure the whole hospital could hear it.

"Max, sometimes I think your totally into me, and other times, I'm just another member of the flock." I stared at Fang with eyes the size of dinner plates. My throat had gone dry, and I was incapable of speaking.

"And then, you looked at Edward that way, and I just became jealous." He furrowed his eyebrows. "But, there you went, and got crazy about Bella! You didn't make sense."

Fang looked at me. "So, what is it? I gotta know, Max. It's driving me insane!"

Yes Fang, I' absolutely and utterly wild about you. I wish I could say that. But instead I didn't.

As we sat gazing at one another, him waiting for an answer, someone else took over my body. It's true, becuase I leaned in, and kissed him. And not a peck or anything, I mean full blown, movie star, kiss.

The best thing was he kissed back. Putting my hand around his neck, and his hand holding my face, we were kissing.

"Finally!" exclaimed Gazzy groggily. "It's 'bout time you two got together!"

I hate bugs! And being in a dark cave, where I have no idea where bugs could be crawling, it's horrible. I tried to find a way up my little hole, but as Jacob said, I couldn't. I had nothing, and it was getting cold.

Maybe I could build a fire or something? I fumbled around searching fro sticks. There was nothing of course, that would be too easy. I had nothing in my pockets, and Jacob took my phone, so....I was stuck.

Deciding I should at least try to sleep, I found a small rock to lay my head on. This was going to be the worst night ever. Edward wasn't beside me watching me sleep, and I was freezing, uncomfortable, and...

EWWW BUG!!!!

-----------------------------------------

I almost smakced Gazzy on the side of the head, but Fang stopped me. So all I did was glare. He laughed tiredly, and mumbled out, "Wait till the guys find out bout this."

"Ugh, do they have to?" I groaned. This was something I was perfectly happy keeping from the flock.

"How are you feeling?" Fang said changing the subject.

Gazzy smiled weakly, "I hate that stupid wolf." Don't we all. If I could get my hands on that oversized mut, I would kill him.

"Is there anything we can get you?" I asked trying to sound motherly. Gazzy sat a little straighter, very uncomfortable having his leg hanging from a rope.

"Yeah, food. A lot of food." Like on cue, Carlilse walked in carrying a tray of goodies.

"Wonderful to see you awake," Carlisle gave a gently smile. "I tried to get these two away, but they wouldn't here of it."

"Yep! That's them alright." Even though Gazzy was concused, beaten, bruised, injured, broken, and hurt, he didn't loose any of his kid like charm. I thought he was being very strong considering the situation.

Carlisle bent over Gaz, checking his bandages, and what not. I twitched when he pulled out a stethascope. "You are recovering very quickly. Though, I recommened another few day here. Just so I can keep an eye on you." Carlisle winked, but the Gasman grimaced. He looked up at me with big baby blue eyes.

"No can do, Doc." I said. Carlisle gave me a firm glance. "We gotta get going as soon as possible. Once Gazzy can fly again, were off. That's just how we are."

Carlisle looked at me as though he might have been angry. "If you care about this boy at all, you will allow him to stay. If he leaves too soon, the stiches could reopen, and Gazzy would bleed to death."

My mouth was agape at the thought of this. "I...but we can't stay! The scientists know we're here! We have to go--"

"Max, as I have said before. I will do everything in my power to keep you safe. I must apologize for leaving you in the first place. None of the is should have happened, but it has. Do you want to make matters worse."

I sighed, "No."

"Good," Carlisle seemed satified. "He shall remain her for three days. Then we will see."

"Three d--" I hated him cutting me off.

"Three days," the doctor said a little more firmly. Gazzy had gone back into a haze like sleep, and Fang watched me by the door. This was going to be a very, very, very, long three days.
